County Waste & Recycling Takes Recycling Seriously
At County Waste & Recycling, sadly, we find it amazing to see the large amounts of cardboard, paper, aluminum, plastic & glass in the waste stream, just to be buried in a landfill, taking up precious space.
We have all heard the cry’s in the past “NOT IN MY BACKYARD”, when there had been a proposed landfill sighting affecting various communities across our nation.
Well, just a little food for thought………. The precious landfill space that we have remaining, will disappear much quicker if we continue to allow our recyclable materials to be directed to these sites. Are you doing your part to conserve not only the precious landfill space, but our environment as well? If not, we may be hearing of a new landfill siting or landfill expansion sooner than you think. When it comes, we will have no others to blame, but for ourselves. We have the power to delay such projects, we just need to be proactive, show a little initiative, and do the right thing…………RECYCLE!
It takes very little effort in creating this habitual good deed.
Cardboard, also referred to as “Old Corrugated Containers” (OCC), along with all paper products, when recycled it becomes a sustainable commodity, however and unfortunately, the forest and trees that are used to create new paper products, including cardboard,ARE NOT! What do you do with your OCC & Paper products?
These eye openers are the reason for our driving force and initiatives to create and offer recycling service which supersedes all other efforts, both with our broader range of acceptable materials and added service days, all of which means greater volumes of recyclable materials collected, then sorted and cleaned at the County Waste & Recycling Material Recovery Facility (MRF). Once deposited at the “MRF”, the materials are automatically and manually sorted before being baled. Once baled, the commodities are reintroduced back to the market to become a new product. The full circle is complete, once the new products make it back into your hands, the consumer.
This full circle of recycling, not only helps conserve the environment and landfill space, it enables various companies to purchase recycled commodities to make their products, instead purchasing the higher cost new virgin materials, all of which helps control manufacturing material costs, in which the savings for the most part is transferred back to you, the consumer. These efforts also slow the process of claiming new virgin resources, paving the way for our environment to recover.
County Waste & Recycling has a cost-effective alternative to putting your recyclable materials into your standard solid waste container. Just about every home has a considerable amount of recyclable materials as a byproduct of their waste flow, and that material takes up a lot of space when thrown into a waste container, let alone the landfills that get filled everyday.
TheCounty Waste & Recycling program enables every home to have a separate container at a reduced cost that is devoted to the collection of recyclable material. With the addition of the Recycling service, it is possible, in most situations, to reduce the container size and/or frequency of pick-ups for your trash service. Do you know what that mean? All indications show that this means that less trash is entering the landfills.
With our (You & Me) continuing efforts to help maintain a sustainable environment, recycling efforts continue to be one of the most popular initiatives in the markets that is served by County Waste & Recycling.
